Membership benefits

In addition to the camaraderie and new friendships you’ll make by becoming a member of the CTTA, the Club entitles you to many other valuable benefits:

Canadian Flyer club newsletter:  Published to the Web site before each monthly meet by CTTA Secretary Charles Reif in PDF format, each issue of this publication features: President’s report, door prize and raffle prize winner photos, table sales & auction highlights, upcoming events & club meets, Editor’s corner and always a few surprises! Access to the complete Canadian Flyer archives is also available.

Member Bulletin e-mail newsletter: Sent to the Club Membership each month by e-mail, published by Web site Manager and membership Co-ordinator Kyle Miller. The e-mail newsletter announces the availability of the latest Canadian Flyer, provides you information on the latest Club activities, Club business, new content on the Web site, details on your membership, membership services, access to the Member’s Corner and Member’s Buy & Sell areas pages of the Web site.

Club meets: Our in person monthly meetings are a great way to meet fellow model train and toy train collectors and operators over lunch, yes. But better still, our club meets are a great place to build your collection of trains and other collectibles in a flea-market style of table sales and auction. Or sell your excess inventory in a friendly swap meet environment.

Access to Club layouts: Our modular layouts in Vancouver & Victoria are brought to the major train shows in the area. Club Members are welcome to bring their own trains to run, and to help with operations of the layout.

Social Media Communities: Available to the membership and public, Web site Manager Kyle Miller also coordinates our Club Facebook Group and YouTube Channel. Join in the fun!

Special Events: The Club membership makes an annual bus trip to the Great Train Show in Puyallup, WA. from Vancouver. The full day trip includes special ‘all in’ pricing for the transportation, train show admission and a delicious buffet dinner. The Club also organizes an annual trip to the TCA (Train Collectors Association) Eastern Division’s annual YORK, PA train show in October. In addition to the York event, members take advantage of side trips to layout tours, Horseshoe Curve National Historic Site, National Toy Train Museum and other activities.

Club Car model trains

A key benefit of CTTA membership is the privilege of acquiring unique and very collectible model railroad Club Cars based on Canadian Railroad prototypes. We commission leading model train manufacturers to produce these for us.

These limited runs of “Club Cars” are made available for sale from time to time through Hobby Shops, Toy Trains magazines and by direct order from CTTA.

As a member, you have a guaranteed opportunity to purchase these exclusive model trains, at a CTTA Member discount price, before they are made available through public channels. Visit the Club Cars” page on this site to see all of the collectible trains we’ve produced so far.
